Having a break

2. Your right to have a break from caring for someone else

You may have the right to a regular break from caring for someone else. This break is called a ‘short break’ or ‘respite care’. The break may last for a few hours or even a few days at a time.

The person you care for will be looked after by someone else while you have a break.
