Why are we doing the survey?
In April 2007, new laws came into effect outlawing
discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation for
people using services.
To help social care service providers get things right, we are
producing a bulletin about making social care services accessible
and appropriate for lesbian, gay and bisexual people.
The views of lesbian, gay and bisexual people with experience of
using care services will be central to the bulletin. And the survey
is one way we are trying to get these views.
We will also look at what service providers have told us they
are doing to make sure lesbian, gay and bisexual people get fair
treatment when using services.
Give us your views
You can help us help social care providers to improve services
for lesbian, gay and bisexual people.
The survey will be open until 31 October
2007.
There will also be other opportunities for you to get involved
during the coming months, including discussion workshops.

About the bulletin
The bulletin will be one of three on equality and diversity
issues we will be producing in 2008.
The other two will be about providing services for black and
minority ethnic people and how services can treat disabled people
equally. We will keep you updated as we develop this project.
