Information for councils
Information for councils about
how we inspect their care services.
What we do
Our job is to make social care services better for the people
who use them.
One of the ways we do this is to inspect and report on councils
who commission and provide social care services for people.
If you work for a council you can find
information in this section about how we inspect and rate council
care services.
What's new
6 March 2007
New inspection regulator for children's
services
From 1 April 2007, we will no longer be inspecting children's
services, schools and colleges, instead this will be done by the
new Ofsted.
