Hazel Parker-Brown

Director of Corporate Services

Hazel was most recently the head of corporate services at the Department for Transport. Hazel's previous roles include director of human resources at the Departments for Transport, Local Government & the Regions and for the Environment, Transport & the Regions, and at the Highways Agency.

John Fraser

Director of Quality, Performance and Methods

John was appointed business director in November 2006. Before this he was our regional director for the North East. John is a qualified social worker with over 30 years' experience of practice, management, policy development and inspection. He has a special interest in services for people with a learning disability and is a member of the Government's learning disability taskforce.

Mike Rourke

Director of Inspection, Regulation and Review

Mike Rourke was appointed business director in September 2006. Before this he had been our regional director for London since CSCI started in April 2004.

He was also a regional director in the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI) for two years. He joined SSI as a service inspector, specialising in children's work, and previously held a variety of senior management roles in local authorities.

Judith Thomas

Director of Communications, User and Public Involvement

Judith was most recently communications adviser on public services at 10 Downing Street. Previous roles include Head of Brand Management at the Department of Health and Deputy Head of Communications for the NHS Executive South Thames.

David Walden

Director of Strategy

David was formerly Transition Director for the Independent Regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts. Prior to this David did a variety of jobs in the Department of Health, including heading the Community Care Branch and then the Health Promotion Division. He became Head of Social Care Policy in 1999.
