What we do

You can find out how we put people who use services at the heart of our work plus how we listen to their views and get them involved in our inspection work.

There are details about how we carry out inspections of all care homes and care agencies in England.

We also award star ratings to councils based on how well they provide social services for adults.

Children's services

Since April 2007, social services for children have been inspected by Ofsted.
